Two more turbines turn on the ridge
Twelve megawatts between them, connected on Friday, and the farm is now nine machines.
Two turbines were connected on the ridge on Friday, bringing the wind farm to nine machines. Between them they carry twelve megawatts, and the operator expects them to run at about a third of that across a year, which is what the six older ones have averaged.
The pair took eleven weeks to raise, four of them waiting on wind low enough to lift the blades. The road cut for the cranes stays in place: the operator has agreed to keep it open for the farms above the ridge.
