Water and supplies reach the riverside quarter
Six hundred households were cut off on Tuesday; the low road opened again this morning.
Drinking water and dry supplies reached the riverside quarter on Thursday, two days after the river came over the low road and cut off about six hundred households. The road reopened this morning once the water fell far enough for the crews to clear it.
Nobody was hurt. The council says forty-one ground floors took water and that a claims desk will sit in the community hall from Monday, open in the morning and again in the evening for those who work.
